I diodn't intend to delete the thing in the first place ! I was
playing with apt-proxy and got interupted by someone and did an rm -Rf
in the wrong console.

Never mind I know someone who did that in the root directory of the
main Dec Alpha for a reasonably large company. Luckily it was Friday
evening but he didn't get home until Saturday morning after
reinstalling the OS and streaming the backup from the tapes he had
just made back on to the system.
