Install exim from potato on woody?

Hello,

I'm having trouble dealing w/ exim in woody. I am a the sole user of a
system that shares an active phone line - I can't allow the system to
connect every 15 minutes. I collect my mail in the "middle of the night"
when there is no phone activity.

My /var/log/syslog contains the following:

Mar 29 14:53:01 debian /USR/SBIN/CRON[1266]: (mail) CMD ( if [ -x
/usr/sbin/exim -a -f /etc/exim/exim.conf ]; then /usr/sbin/exim -q ; fi)
Mar 29 15:08:01 debian /USR/SBIN/CRON[1305]: (mail) CMD ( if [ -x
/usr/sbin/exim -a -f /etc/exim/exim.conf ]; then /usr/sbin/exim -q ; fi)
Mar 29 15:23:01 debian /USR/SBIN/CRON[1372]: (mail) CMD ( if [ -x
/usr/sbin/exim -a -f /etc/exim/exim.conf ]; then /usr/sbin/exim -q ; fi)
Mar 29 15:38:01 debian /USR/SBIN/CRON[1481]: (mail) CMD ( if [ -x
/usr/sbin/exim -a -f /etc/exim/exim.conf ]; then /usr/sbin/exim -q ; fi)

... etc.

If I have my pppd running, the system attempts a connection for each of
these statements - that is about every 15 minutes.

I did not have this problem with exim when I was a recent potato user.

Can I install the exim package from potato in woody?

Thanks in advance,
Barry Mathieu
