EBDA too big

hello

After reboting frow windows, my debian got this message:
EBDA too big

I have already tried to reboot with disks/cdrom.

booting from cd :
at boot: -prompt

rescue /dev/hda8

this runs my 'system' but I have a 2.4 kernel, while mmy cd/floppy is 2.2

I tried to edit my /etc/lilo.conf, but when executing LILO, I get:

can't put the boot sector on log partition 0x0308 (seems to be my MBR?,
because I get the same address while booting when it says: kernel panic.

tnx

Pauwel

PS: please reply to me too personally, I'm not on the list with this
