Disputable.  Pegasus Mail from NZ could also lay claim to that, and
is also free too.

Pegasus has identities to handle as many different pops as you want.
Every single configurable option is saved with each identity.

and plugins for PGP too.

I have to plug it because it is free. If you want a manual or a cd
you can buy one, but download the latest version with all features
for free email for ever, not crippled, no ads.  The creator David
Harris has a philosophy of providing his email client free as a
service so that everybody can communicate to the full.  Academic
institutions support him by buying site licences to sell printed
manuals to users which is how I latched onto it. He is not handing
out the code, but he is dedicated to not charging for the software
per se which he has done since before windows was a dream even. A
linux version? Has been discussed but do not know what the state of
progress is on that. Gotta say it is my favourite program of all
time.
