I can not help with the above issue but if you have a working boot disk
you might be able to use 'dd' to make another copy.
1. copy the floppy to a dir on your hard drive 'dd if=/<path to floppy>
of=<dir path>/boot.image bs=1024'
2. copy the file you created back to a floppy: 'dd if=~/boot.image
of=/<path to floppy>' (man dd)
