I think, like some others, that you have too many digits in that model
number.

A lot of 3Com cards use the '3c59x' or the '3c509' modules.

For the 3c59x module,
/usr/share/doc/kernel-doc-<version>/Documentation/networking/vortext.txt.gz
has a lot of info.  It claims the following cards use this driver :
