gnome-session fails

Hi!

I've just installed potato 2.2r4 in a new system. After installed the gnome
stuff (task-gnome-desktop) and after created a /etc/X11/XF86Config file with
anXious, I can't load the gnome desktop. I get:

~$ gnome-session
/dev/dsp: Permission denied

Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
SESSION_MANAGER=local/nostromo:/tmp/.ICE-unix/183,tcp/nostromo:1025
/dev/dsp: Permission denied

Gt-_WARNING **: cannot open display

if I run gnome-session as root I get the same message, changing "Permission
denied" by "No such device". But the /dev/dsp device already exists!

What am I doing wrong? Any help will be very appreciated...

TIA
