Man XF86Config shows the new format for modelines

    Mode "1280x1024"
        DotClock 135.00
        HTimings 1280 1312 1416 1664
        VTimings 1024 1027 1030 1064
        #Flags "+HSync" "+VSync"
    EndMode

Try the above change.  RTFM for more hints.
