I downloaded the drivers, followed the installation instructions, and .\configure failed. I wasn't about to attempt to go through the compilation manually. The reason: I can't even get "Hello, world" to compile (gcc can't find the header file). Now I have the kernel modules set up, and squawking when I give them the chance, the base alsa packages, and the source for the appropriate (I hope) alsadriver. I am wondering more about the specific causes of my problem, and how to deal with them. I'm tired of always getting nothing. Thanks for any help, Seneca seneca@slemish.com
