(Assume the cd is mounted as /mnt/cdrom)

$ find /mnt/cdrom -name \*.deb -print

will list all the .deb files in the directory /mnt/cdrom and any
subdirectories.  Also "ls -R" lists recursively.  There is also an
organization to the directories so that apt knows where to find a
given package.
