Exactly.  You start 'esd' which opens the sound device (usually
/dev/dsp).  Then you start xmms which also tries to open the sound
device, but can't because esd has it.  You need to configure xmms to
use the 'esound' output plugin instead of the 'oss' one.

O.k. I made xmms use esound output plugin, still doesn't work.
