Do you have /dev/dsp too? The only reason i ask is that './MAKEDEV
audio' makes many devices (including dsp, mixer, etc).
Another possiblity is that esd is running and just locking the dsp
device. Try typing 'esdctl standby' or 'killall esd' and then running
your app.
