vnc and inetd - I thought I knew what I was doing . . . ;-)

Hey all,

I have successfully installed vnc as an inetd service on Solaris 8,
RedHat 7.1, RedHat 7.1 and Suse 7.0. My latest attempt is on Debian
(woody testing) 3.0 using kdm and I am back to the infamous grey
screen.

I have modified the /etc/kde2/kdm/kdmrc file and enabled XDMCP and
uncommented the line relating to port 177. I removed the argument
relating to no tcp in the /etc/kde2/kdm/Xservers file. Still nothing
but grey screen so I know I have Xvnc working, just not getting the
login. netstat shows xdmcp only listening over udp.

service1:/home/jvincent# netstat -l | grep xdm
udp 0 0 *:xdmcp *:*

Anyone know how to get kdm to listen on using tcp port 177? The
version of kdm is 2.2.1.0-6. What else am I missing?

Thanks for any help you can offer,

Jeff
