Re: ADSL & USB

Hi,

Here in the UK, our main telco BT supply the Alcatel Speedtouch Home USB
(at least
I think it's called that, it's the Alcatel Speedtouch USB anyway). It looks like
a blueish manta ray.

There are both closed and open source drivers for the modem, but I haven't used
them for a while
as I opted for a router to save hassle. Last time I used them, they worked quite
well, but there were
some issues with the up/downstream speeds, but I'm sure that they have been
resolved by now.

I forget the URL for the site, but if you search sourceforge for 'speedtouch' or
go to www.adslguide.org.uk
I'm sure you'll find a link.

Hope this helps

I'd like to use an ADSL modem via USB.

Is there anyone out there having experience of such ADSL modems under woody?

Suggestions about particular makes?

Thanks
Vittorio
