smtp with kmail

Hello list

I'm trying to send e-mails via smtp from kmail. I have selected "smtp" in
the network menu, but I don't know which port nuber to 
use. (The default "0" does not work, I get an error connection refused)

So, what is the default port for smtp transfers?
