Just tried another dist-upgrade and no joy, it's not there.  But I
finally pulled my head out!

ln -s /usr/lib/libexpat.so.1.0.0 /usr/lib/libexpat.so.0
fixed it, of course.

Debian has made me soft, I guess.  Haven't had to do that for 3-4
years now and just up and forgot it.  With Slackware that was a common
problem.  Umm, my memory again.
