You just need to set up the file
/etc/network/interfaces
( see man interfaces )
Here is one example (dhcp)
# automatically added when upgrading
auto lo
iface lo inet static
address 127.0.0.1
netmask 255.0.0.0
# automatically added when upgrading
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp
The same with static
# automatically added when upgrading
auto lo
iface lo inet static
address 127.0.0.1
netmask 255.0.0.0
# automatically added when upgrading
auto eth0
iface eth0 inet static
address 192.168.0.10
netmask 255.255.255.0
It is also possible to use debconf (forgot how...)
