Likewise, though I do have a dedicated data line.

    $ ifconfig ppp0 | awk -F ':' '/inet/ {print $2}' | cut -f 1 -d ' '

...will return your IP address.  It's relatively straightforward to run
this out to a static web page.  Or you can use dyndns.org to assign
yourself a static FQDN.
