But to cut through the chase the base system can be
downloaded to floppies from this link.
http://http.us.debian.org/debian/dists/potato/main/disks-i386/current/
Select the images-1.44/ link and then you can download
the base-1 through base-11 and the 4 driver floppies
onto disk. Once you have those installed you can
configure your modem and then do a apt-get to install
woody. The main problem with this type of installation
is the reliability of the floppies.
