cdrecord error in write_g1

I fixed the problem posted earlier (not sure how, but it didn't involve
making any changes to my system).

Now, I have another problem with it :-\ I've run some searches on google
and deja for the error message and it appears to be a fairly common
problem with recent versions of cdrecord but no one appears to have a
fix for it. Those that have fixed it appear to have done so by
downgrading their version of cdrecord.
Before downgrading to whatever's in stable, I was wondering if maybe the
version in unstable might've fixed the problem... or if anyone on this
list happens to know what's causing the problem. The error I'm getting
follows (the .cdr files I'm passing to cdrecord were created by running
.wav files through sox).

Also, I believe my cdr drive is a BTC BCE621E IDE drive using ide-scsi
(not sure if the 621E is correct) which is listed as working with
cdrecord... and has worked for me with cdrecord. As I said, this drive
has worked fine beginning a couple years ago under Windows until earlier
this year under Mandrake. It didn't work under Progeny and currently
doesn't work under Woody.
