Sound Card & Gnome

Hello all,

I am working with Potato/gnome 1.4, and I am trying to get the sound 
driver working, with the application sounds of gnome.

On the boot, I get:

which I can not understand.

When I send somthing to the /dev/dsp it works, but on the applications 
sound I do not get nothing.

Why?  Any ideas?
