Yes. You've probably already got one, it's virtually required as a local mail transport, e.g.: just to send system messages to a user account. There are various ways to configure an MTA, in your case, you'd almost certainly configure it to deliver local messages, use your ISP as a smarthost for outbound mail, and retrieve mail via a transport mechanism such as fetchmail. -- Karsten M.
