I recompiled the kernel after doing the above thing. However I am still
getting this in /var/log/XFree86.0.log:

(II) I810(0): direct rendering: Disabled

Any ideas why this might be happening ?

rajesh@debian:/var/log$ dpkg -l | grep XFree
ii xfree86-common 4.0.2-1 X Window System (XFree86) infrastructure
ii xserver-xfree8 4.0.2-1 the XFree86 X server

rajesh@debian:/var/log$ uname -a
Linux debian 2.4.9 #1 Sun Aug 26 14:06:38 GMT 2001 i686 unknown

rajesh@debian:/var/log$ dmesg | grep drm
[drm] AGP 0.99 on Intel i810 @ 0xd0000000 64MB
[drm] Initialized i810 1.1.0 20000928 on minor 63

Thanks in advance.

Warm Regards
