What do the error-logs for apache say???
I've found out them to be a good source for information what's wrong.
Maybe there's a cgi-redirect for security reasons configured and that leads to
some failures.
May it's not only a secure redirect but also a "CanonicalNames = On" that
somehow conflicts with DNS-values?
