That won't be a good idea. Dependencies will be screwed!
Do a LFS install. You learn a lot.
After that wipe it and install Debian. And upgrade to unstable to get cutting
edge stuff. The PC I'm on now, I started from 2 potato boot stiffies. I'm
running KDE 2.2 now and Mozilla 9.3. And I got here without a single hitch!
