RE: gnome/mouseroller
OK, I'm gonna take a punt at this, as I am not at my home PC right now so I
can't be 100% sure...
There is a commmand that starts Gnome, I think it's something creative like
'gnome-start'. Try changing your .xinitrc to read -
icewm &
gnome-start
