exim, mainlog, permissions

Hello,

From time to time my /var/log/mainlog file is being converted from:

-rw-rw---- mail mail mainlog

 - to -

-r-------- root root mainlog

Has anyone seen this before? I suspect /etc/cron.daily/exim, but all
that does is:

savelog -p -c 10 /var/log/exim/$i >/dev/null

and I don't know how that could be a problem given (-p).

Anyway, any help would be appreciated. This is an up to date woody
system...

Thanks as always!
Jonathan Lupa
