Ah, telnet fails as well.  Very interesting. Here's what I get when I
try to telnet to that box:

dixon@rowling:~$ telnet stiq
Trying 172.16.1.151...
Connected to stiq.seranoa.com.
Escape character is '^]'.

Connection closed by foreign host.
dixon@rowling:~$ 

This is only a problem for my box from the RH 7.1 server I can telnet
into the box.  I can also ssh into the RH server.  I'm stumped.
