You could add a line for woody (testing) in sources.list:
deb ftp://ftp.nl.uu.net/debian testing main contrib non-free
deb http://non-us.debian.org/debian-non-US testing/non-US main contrib non-free

(use your favorite server).

Then do 'apt-get update && apt-get install iptables openssh'.

This will slowly upgrade your distro to woody.
