mod_php and mod_perl and apache at the same time?

is there a known problem with getting apache and 
mod_php and mod_perl all working at the same time?

I can get apache to work fine, just by installing the package

I can get apache and php to work fine

I had a lot of trouble trying to get libapache-mod-ssl working,
so i just installed the apache-perl package

then i tried getting a dynamic DSO of php4 to work with
the apache-perl server, but it segfaults whenever
i try to access a php script.  

the errors aren't very helpful:

maybe i'll try strussing it when i'm not so tired.
