What's "/etc/printcap" look like?! With cupsys, my printcap file was nullified as soon as I added cupsys-client. I'm running unstable, though... I would make sure that "/etc/printcap" had the printer in it, and then restart "lpd". Hope this helps...if not, sorry. :)
