Make check error: binutils-2.11

Hi,
I am preparing to upgrade to glibc-2.2.2, so I compiled the binutils-2.11 from source
with the following command;

 ../binutils-2.11/configure --prefix=/usr --enable-shared --with-gnu-ld 
    --with-included-gettext --mandir=/usr/share

    make 
    make check

Part of the errors are:

My system is Debian 2.2r3 with
gcc-2.95.2
glibc-2.1.13
x-windows 4.0.2
kernel 2.2.18
binutils-2.9.5
expect5.31_5.31.8-3_i386.deb and
dejagnu_1.3-19990614-4_all.deb installed by apt-get 

Any ideas please ?
