you need at least 0.8, 0.9 is much better though.

.jp.or works fine for me. but yes you need to install mozilla-dev,
mozilla, and nspr-dev, nspr.

there are not debian packages for galeon. every so often one appears
there but i would never use it, because i don't think its made by a
real debian developer. (which usually means someone just aliened an
rpm which is no good at all)..

i just compile galeon from source, which is quite easy when you have
the above packages installed (also install a few gnome-dev stuff)

./configure && make && su -c 'make install'

installs into /usr/local very nicely (unlike mozilla). if at some
point debian packages galeon correctly, you can run make uninstall to
remove it from /usr/local.

this arrangment works quite well for me, i compile kitame's mozilla
packages on my potato box, i compiled most of the gnome source
packages from sid on my potato box (galeon needs newer gnome then what
potato has) then i install galeon from source. i make it a policy to
never use unoffical debs, mozilla being the only [halfway] exception
since mozilla is next to impossible to install into /usr/local
correctly (read not windows style in /usr/local/mozilla). kitame's
packages are real debian packages that are in potato, just upgrades
mozilla to the current version.

i imagine galeon will not get packaged for debian until mozilla is
packaged for debian (mozilla m18 does not count).
