i've run wireless on potato and am running it on woody with no problem.
whether the card is supported is the real issue. start with Jean
Tourrilhes' page at
http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/ and work from there.
(fyi, i'm using the proxim symphony cards - both pci and pc - and they're
working great. throughput is sometimes an issue, but that's slowly
getting better.)
