What threw me was that it asked me if I wanted to stop, and I said yes. It
went ahead and installed the kernel and supporting packages anyway. It then
did a lot of automated work in setting up the initrd symlink, and prompting me
to rerun lilo. Honestly, I assumed that once it was prompting me to rerun
lilo, that lilo.conf was correct.
It was easy to fix with an email to this list, but the behaviour was a
little misleading.

You are attempting to install an initrd kernel image (version $version)
This will not work unless you have configured your boot loader to use
initrd.
To get rid of this message, put `do_initrd = Yes' in /etc/kernel-img.conf.

Note that it doesn't mention _how_ to modify your boot loader. I guess
there are a lot of them, but lilo is pretty common...
So, if I answered "yes", does that mean that something is not yet done in
the install of the kernel? Everything seems to be working...
