Re: What extra packages do I need for patching the kernel?



First, apt-get kernel-package, and learn to use make-kpkg. (This is the
only official debian way. Read doc comes with it.)

Apply flavour patch prior to use for best result if you use old debian
source packages or kernel from kernel.org.

Kernel header is not needed for this task.

Of course, get gcc, libcurses5-dev or something for make menuconfig.
