RE: 320X240
i missed the start of this thread but i've had a similar problem with the
Matrox G200 Millenium 8MB Card. This was resolved in two ways.
- configuring the resolution in the X driver config file. It took some
figuring out to understand it doesn't have to do with the XF86Config file
- upgrading to a newer version of X solved the issue completely
