libnewt was a bit weirdly inconsistent in woody for a while. The current
version for i386 is 0.50.17-1; you'll find it at e.g.
ftp://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/n/newt/libnewt0_0.50.17-1_i386.deb.
There might still be problems, though.
