afaik gpm was compiled with repeat_type=raw. if i enable repeat_type=raw my
mouse behaves very strange. i have this problem with differen imps/2 mice
(logitech, dexa, m$) on different machines running potato, woody or sid.
deleting the repeat_type entry solves this problem and the mouse works in
both console and x as expected.
