  check the gpm docs to figure out how to either use the middle mouse
button (selecting the right mouse is usually enough) or how to enable
emulation of middle click (if you do not have middle button which
appears to be the case)

once you set up the gpm you need to execute (as root): /etc/init.d/gpm
restart
