Re: making /dev/hdc a block device



Hi,

first you have to remove the old file, with 'rm /dev/hdc'.

Making devices should go with:
cd /dev
./MAKEDEV hdc

but I am not sure.

For making devices you use mknod:
mknod NAME TYPE MAJOR MINOR,

so in your case:
mknod hdc b 22 0

and chgrp it to disk.
