OK, XMMS works now.

Yep, esd is running

But I still cannot use mpg123 or wavp. Running mpg123 in verbose mode doesn't generate an error message though.

When I run the command

mpg123 filename or mpg123 -v filename,

I get the following output:

High Performance MPEG 1.0/2.0/2.5 Audio Player for Layer 1, 2 and 3.

and it hangs like this forever...
