Re: SiS 5597/5598 Video Card

You got me on the right track. Xserver-svga was the right driver, but since
anXious (in the setup program) didn't recognize my card, it didn't load
Xserver-svga. I used apt-get to get it, and now it's fine. Thanks.

One more problem, though: since the setup program didn't have a video
driver to work with, there was a bunch of package software that didn't
install. Now that I am up and running, I'd like to try to install it.
Apt-get is fine if you know what you need, one package at a time. But how
can I get back into the package installation program (or something
equivalent) to find out what I lost and what I need to reinstall?

Sorry for stupid newbie questions. I'm trying to read the manual, but it
seems you need to know the commands you're looking for before you look them
up.

Keith
