menuconfig error

Hi kernel-builders!

Till now, I had no probs whatsoever to build my kernels.
I do this from the original kernel.org sources.

However, this evening menuconfig won´t work.
I use debian woody on both my compilinhg machines. I started with a
freshly untared kernel tree.
Whenever I do make menuconfig, it compiles for a while and then says

> make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux/scripts/lxdialog'
> /bin/sh scripts/Menuconfig arch/i386/config.in
> Using defaults found in arch/i386/defconfig
> Preparing scripts: functionsYour lxdialog utility does not exist
> make: *** [menuconfig] Error 1

What´s wrong???
