You are *not* talking about memory. You're talking about disk storage.

From /:
$ du -sx * | sort -nr
...then trace down through your large(r) partitions.
Also:
$ find / -mtime -1 -size +1000 -depth -print0 | xargs -0 ls -l
...which will list large(r) recently created files.
