there's probably a better answer than this, but in case nobody replies, if
you delete the line

   FontPath "unix/:7100"         # local font server

from the "Files" section, X will boot up just fine.

a better answer is to figure out why fonts aren't being served from that
port.  i think that port's fonts are being served by xfs.  are you running
xfs?

if yes, try restarting it and look for any error messages pertaining to xfs.

if no, then install xfs.
