I just noticed that a day or so ago, as well. Apparently xscreensaver-demo is segfaulting... I assume that we're both seeing the same problem, but here's how to check: 1) Open your favourite x-terminal (rxvt in my case). 2) Allow core-files with "ulimit -c unlimited". 3) Run /usr/bin/gnomecc directly, and select the screensaver entry. 4) A core-file should have been created in the current directory (feel free to exit gnomecc now). Run "gdb -c core" to see what gdb has to say about it. My version is below.
