I can understand you. The next keyboard I'll buy won't have those
nasty keys.
What about declaring your Alt-Keys in XF86Config as Meta? This
snippet is taken from the Keyboard section of my /etc/X11/XF86Config
<snippet>
LeftAlt Meta
RightAlt Meta
</snippet>
I'm sure there is some way to get this behavior with elisp, too, but
why bother?
