DEC Ethernet Card (de4x5) doesn't see a network

Hi folks,

I've searched in Deja, and Google... but to no avail.

I've a DECchip based network card. I load de4x5, and everything works...
*after* I unplug the network and then re-plug in the plug.

So, whenever I boot, I need to see the system... which should be a server in
a separate room. Okay, so it won't be rebooted often (hopefully ;-) but it's
pretty annoying, especially in the setup period that we're still in (okay,
that *I* am in... ;-)

Oh, yes, the modules says "eth0: media is TP", but won't make a peep... and
even stranger, when there's no cable and no hub connected, it goes in a
loop, forever repeating "eth0: media is TP" and some other msg, I think it
was "eth0: media is unconnected, link down or incompatible connection" (didn't
remember this exactly, I've looked in de4x5.c, and I'm pretty sure this was
it).

Any clues?

Bye, J
