What are you doing? How does it fail?
Post the commands and responses you're getting.
Post your IRQ information. Yes, you may have an IRQ conflict.
Might also help to show what else your system is detecting.
Run and post output for:
$ cat /proc/interrupts
$ cat /proc/pci
$ cat /proc/modules
$ ifconfig
